Are you considering undergoing a breast lift, but you aren’t sure that you want implants placed? You’re not the only one. Breast enhancing procedures are commonly performed both with and without implants. If you decide that you want to give your breasts a boost, but don’t want to dramatically alter the size of them, a breast lift is the correct procedure for you.
What is a Breast Lift?
A breast lift is a procedure that is designed to correct and lift sagging breasts. This procedure will lift the breasts to a higher position on the chest, reposition the nipples, and restore firmness to the breasts. Overall, this procedure is made to provide a more youthful look to your chest. This procedure is good for women who are in generally good health and are suffering from sagging breasts.
Can a Breast Lift be Done without Implants?
Yes. This procedure is performed without silicone or saline implants. A breast lift, in its design, is made to remove excess skin, raise the breasts, reposition the nipples, and restore firmness to the breasts. There is no need for implants in this procedure because your own breast tissue is used to reconstruct the look of your breasts. If you are interested in significantly increasing your breast size, a breast augmentation would be a better procedure for you.
Will a Breast Lift Make My Breasts Look Fuller?
Overall, the simple answer is no. A breast lift without implants will not increase the size of your breasts. A breast lift will only take away the sagging skin and make the breasts appear more firm.
What is the Cost of a Breast Lift?
Breast lift procedure costs can be discussed in a consultation with Dr. Austin. Each patient’s desires and breasts are unique so the cost will fluctuate from patient to patient. Additionally, because most elective healthcare procedures are not covered by most health insurances, we offer financing. Our financing plans are done through CareCredit®. This service is available to patients with approved credit to offset the upfront cost of a breast lift.
Is this a Common Procedure?
Breast enhancing procedures are incredibly common. They are among the top services in plastic surgery every year. Breast lift procedures are especially common in women who want to enhance their natural look without increasing the size of their breasts.
What is the Downtime Following a Breast Lift?
Following your breast lift procedure, you will need assistance from someone to drive you home and provide basic care for a few days. This person should help you with daily tasks so that you are able to fully recover. Swelling and soreness are common side effects of this procedure. You will also be sent home with dressings and compression wraps. You may not shower for the first three days postoperative.
