1. What is QWO?

QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe cellulite on the thighs and buttocks of adult men and women. Unlike other traditional cellulite treatments like subcision or radiofrequency probes, QWO does not require the use of any cutting, scarring, or anesthesia. Instead, QWO requires just three treatments spaced 21 days apart from non-surgical and minimally invasive injections. Each QWO treatment takes just about 10 minutes to complete, after which time you can resume your regularly scheduled activities including work and exercise.

2. How long does QWO last?

QWO is a brand-new FDA-approved treatment for the reduction of cellulite on the buttocks and the backs of the thighs. While studies have shown QWO provides results for at least one year following treatment, many patients find that their desired results last longer than just 12 months.

3. Is QWO better than Cellfina?

Cellfina is a minimally invasive cellulite treatment that uses subcision to break up the connective tissue that causes puckering on the surface of the skin. While Cellfina does provide patients with the smooth skin they desire, it does require cutting and invasive techniques. QWO is the perfect cellulite treatment for patients who want a quick and non-invasive procedure using simple injections to smooth over their treatment areas.

4. How painful is QWO?

QWO is a quick and comfortable injectable treatment. Like Botox®, patients who receive QWO injections can ask for a topical anesthetic for their desired treatment areas. With this numbing, there is virtually no pain associated with each QWO treatment. While swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur following treatment, these side effects typically resolve on their own within a week of treatment.

5. Who is a good candidate for QWO?

QWO is a wonderful cellulite treatment option for patients who wish to reduce the appearance of cellulite on the backs of the thighs and buttocks. Ideal candidates for QWO are in good general health and have realistic expectations of their desired results. QWO may not be a good option for women who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.

6. Can you sit after QWO?

Yes! Unlike other cellulite reduction treatments that call for a lengthy recovery period, patients who receive QWO are able to return to all of their normal daily activities including work immediately following treatment. Dr. Austin may ask that you avoid sitting in stagnant water, like a pool or bath, for at least a week following your QWO treatment.
