What is QWO?
QWO is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe cellulite on the thighs and buttocks of adult men and women. Unlike other traditional cellulite treatments like subcision or radiofrequency probes, QWO does not require the use of any cutting, scarring, or anesthesia. Instead, QWO requires just three treatments spaced 21 days apart from non-surgical and minimally invasive injections. Each QWO treatment takes just about 10 minutes to complete, after which time you can resume your regularly scheduled activities including work and exercise.
How Much Does QWO Cost?
The cost of your QWO treatment will depend on several factors, including the number of treatments required to obtain your desired results. At your consultation, Dr. Austin, Dr. Isakson, and Dr. Medina will listen to your concerns and create a personalized treatment plan. From here, our experienced staff will be able to provide you with an estimated cost of your treatment. To ensure that patients are able to afford treatment, we provide several financing options, including CareCredit® and PatientFi - Click here to apply.
How Does QWO Work?
QWO is an injectable treatment formulated with a special type of enzyme called collagenase. This enzyme does three things to help reduce the appearance of cellulite on the surface of the skin:
- QWO’s enzymes release the fibrous bands of connective tissue that contribute to the "puckering" effect cellulite has on the skin.
- They then redistribute the fat cells that have gathered around the previously present fibrous bands to smooth away any lumps or bumps that may remain on the skin’s surface.
- Finally, QWO stimulates the growth of new collagen in the skin to smooth away uneven skin texture and provide you with the smooth, beautiful skin you desire.
Each QWO treatment takes just 10 minutes to complete, after which time patients are able to resume their normal daily activities including work. Some patients are able to start seeing their results within just three days of their final treatment.
Are There Any Side Effects From QWO?
Immediately following your QWO treatment, you may notice mild swelling, tenderness, and bruising around your treated areas. This is normal and typically resolves on its own within a week or two of treatment. Patients may also notice some redness, warmth, and discoloration around their treatment areas. Less common side effects may include an allergic reaction to the prescription medication itself including hypersensitivity or anaphylaxis. It’s important to talk to Dr. Austin, Dr. Isakson, and Dr. Medina about your concerns before scheduling your QWO treatment.
How Does QWO Differ From Other Cellulite Treatment?
QWO is the first and only injectable treatment on the market for unwanted cellulite. Unlike traditional cellulite procedures that require cutting, scarring, general anesthesia, and more, QWO simply uses a few strategically placed injections to provide patients with the smooth, beautiful skin they desire.
Am I a Good Candidate for QWO?
If you’re looking for a non-surgical treatment to reduce the appearance of your moderate to severe cellulite, QWO may be right for you. Ideal candidates for QWO are in good general health and have realistic expectations of their results. If you currently take any blood-thinning medications, we encourage you to talk to Dr. Austin, Dr. Isakson, and Dr. Medina before starting your QWO treatments. We encourage all of our patients to schedule a private consultation with Dr. Austin, Dr. Isakson, and Dr. Medina to find out if QWO is a good option for them.
