BodyTite is a minimally invasive radiofrequency procedure that melts stubborn fat and tightens loose skin in one treatment, on areas like the abdomen, arms, and thighs, through tiny incisions instead of the long scars of a tummy tuck or arm lift. At Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery, it is performed by board-certified surgeons Dr. Karen Szymanski and Dr. Troy Austin.

BodyTite

Melt fat, tighten skin.

BodyTite is a minimally invasive body contouring procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to melt stubborn fat and tighten loose skin at the same time, through a few tiny incisions rather than the long incisions of a tummy tuck or arm lift. The technology, made by InMode, is called radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis, or RFAL: a thin probe passes under the skin while an external electrode glides over the surface, and the energy between them liquefies fat, contracts the skin, and stimulates new collagen over the following months. It is often described as liposuction with skin tightening built in. For the right candidate, it can deliver a firmer, smoother contour with local anesthesia and only a few days of downtime. Because BodyTite works beneath the skin, at Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery it is performed by board-certified surgeons, never a spa technician.

Surgeon-performed, not spa-performed.

BodyTite places a radiofrequency probe beneath your skin, so who holds the device matters. At Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery it is performed by two board-certified surgeons. Dr. Karen Szymanski, DO is a board-certified surgeon (American Osteopathic Board of Surgery) who specializes in energy-based body and facial contouring, including BodyTite, FaceTite, and Lipo360, and she also leads our medical weight loss care. Dr. Troy Austin is certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery and completed his fellowship at the Medical College of Georgia.

That surgical training is the difference between an even, natural result and an uneven one. It also means honest guidance: if your loose skin is better treated by an arm lift, thigh lift, or tummy tuck, we will tell you, rather than sell you a treatment that cannot deliver what you want. BodyTite is one of the full range of plastic surgery procedures we offer, so the recommendation is always the option that fits you.

BodyTite is the in-between option: more skin tightening than liposuction alone, without the long scar of a lift. Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery

Who is a good candidate?

BodyTite is best for adults with mild to moderate loose skin and a modest amount of stubborn fat, on the abdomen, arms, thighs, or other areas, in skin that still has some elasticity. Many of our patients are at or near a stable weight after pregnancy, aging, or weight loss, including weight loss with GLP-1 medications, and want a firmer contour without a long scar. It is not a substitute for a lift: if you have heavy, hanging skin or separated abdominal muscles, an arm lift, thigh lift, or tummy tuck will give you a better result, and we will tell you so. A consultation is the best way to know which option fits your body and your goals.

What it treats

Where BodyTite works best.

BodyTite is designed for the areas where loose skin and stubborn fat tend to show up together, and where a long surgical scar is something you would rather avoid.

Abdomen & flanks

Tighten mild loose skin and slim the lower belly and love handles, a common concern after pregnancy or weight loss when a full tummy tuck is more than you need.

Upper arms

Firm crepey, loose skin on the back of the arms and reduce fat, often as an alternative to an arm lift when laxity is mild to moderate.

Thighs & knees

Smooth and tighten the inner and outer thighs and the area above the knees. A BodyTite thigh lift is an option for patients who want a firmer leg without the incision of a surgical thigh lift.

Back, bra line & chest

Refine the bra line and back, and treat the male chest, where small fat pockets and loose skin are hard to target with diet and exercise.

How it works

Radiofrequency, inside and out.

BodyTite uses radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL), which treats fat and skin from both sides at once.

The two-part device

Through a few tiny incisions, a thin internal probe passes beneath the skin while an external electrode glides over the surface. Radiofrequency energy flows between them, heating the tissue in a precise, controlled way.

Melt, tighten, remodel

That heat does three things: it liquefies fat so it can be gently suctioned out, it contracts the connective tissue under the skin for an immediate tightening effect, and it triggers your body to build new collagen over the following months.

Built-in safety

The device continuously monitors temperature to protect your skin, and because a surgeon guides the probe, energy is delivered evenly for a smooth, natural contour. The heat also seals small blood vessels, which can help limit bruising.

Investment

How much does BodyTite cost in Augusta?

BodyTite at our practice is priced by area, because the size and number of areas treated drive the time and work involved. A BodyTite thigh lift starts at $5,000, and adding liposuction for extra contouring is typically $1,500 to $3,000 more. Other areas, such as the abdomen and upper arms, are quoted at your consultation once your surgeon has assessed your skin, your fat, and your goals.

Recovery & results

A few days down, months of improvement.

The first week

Expect some swelling, bruising, and soreness, and you will wear a compression garment, usually for a few weeks, to support your skin as it contracts. Most people return to work and light activity within 1 to 2 days.

Your result over time

  • You will notice a slimmer contour once early swelling settles.
  • Skin tightening builds gradually as collagen remodels, with the final result visible around 3 to 6 months.
  • Strenuous exercise usually waits a few weeks; your surgeon will clear you when you are ready.
  • Treated fat cells do not come back, but keeping a stable weight helps your result last, and natural aging continues.

In Augusta, many patients schedule BodyTite in the fall or winter, so swelling has settled and collagen has had months to build before sleeveless and swimsuit season returns.

Give it a few months. The best of BodyTite shows up gradually as new collagen tightens the skin.

What is BodyTite?

BodyTite is a minimally invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to melt stubborn fat and tighten loose skin in the same treatment. It works through a few tiny incisions, so it can improve areas like the abdomen, arms, and thighs without the long scar of a tummy tuck or arm lift.

BodyTite uses radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL). A thin probe under the skin and an electrode on the surface send controlled energy between them, which liquefies fat, contracts the tissue beneath the skin, and stimulates new collagen over the following months.

BodyTite at Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery is priced by area. A BodyTite thigh lift starts at $5,000, and adding liposuction is typically $1,500 to $3,000 more. Other areas are quoted at your $100 consultation, and financing is available.

It depends on your skin. Liposuction removes fat but does not tighten skin, so it suits people with good skin tone. BodyTite reduces fat and tightens mild to moderate loose skin, which makes it a better fit when some laxity is part of the concern. The two are often combined.

BodyTite is best for mild to moderate laxity. If you have heavy, hanging skin or separated abdominal muscles, a surgical tummy tuck, arm lift, or thigh lift will give a better result. Your surgeon will tell you which fits at your consultation.

Common areas include the abdomen, flanks, upper arms, inner and outer thighs, knees, back and bra line, and the male chest. Your surgeon can treat one area or combine several in the same procedure.

You will see a slimmer contour once early swelling settles, and skin tightening continues as collagen builds, with the final result around 3 to 6 months. Treated fat cells do not return, and keeping a stable weight helps your result last for years, though natural aging continues.

It can be. BodyTite works well for mild to moderate loose skin once your weight is stable, including after weight loss with GLP-1 medications. If weight loss has left a large amount of loose skin, a surgical lift is usually the better choice.

BodyTite is performed by board-certified surgeons Dr. Karen Szymanski, DO, who specializes in BodyTite and FaceTite, and Dr. Troy Austin, MD, who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. It is never delegated to a technician.
