NeoGraft FAQS in Augusta, GA
NeoGraft™ is a newer method of hair restoration that is now available at Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery with Dr. Troy Austin, a board-certified plastic surgeon, and Dr. Matthew Isakson, board-eligible plastic surgeon. Below are some frequently asked questions about the NeoGraft™ procedure. If you have any other questions or would like to schedule a consultation, please give our office a call.
What is NeoGraft™?
NeoGraft™ is a follicular unit extraction (FUE) method of hair restoration. It is less invasive than other hair transplant methods and is known to achieve more natural-looking results without leaving any scars or incision lines.
Where will the transplanted hair be taken from?
Dr. Austin and Dr. Isakson will be taking donor hair follicles from the back or side of your head and transplanting them to the balding or thinning areas. NeoGraft™ allows for a smoother removal of the hair follicles without the pulling or twisting that is involved with traditional methods. This helps to preserve the follicle to ensure your best results.
Will NeoGraft™ work for me?
It is important that you have a sufficient amount of donor hair available for transplantation. The possible fullness and thickness of your results will depend on how much hair Dr. Austin and Dr. Isakson will be able to remove and use for your transplantation. NeoGraft™ is an FDA-cleared procedure that can help both men and women treat their problems with pattern baldness or thinning hair.
Does NeoGraft™ hurt?
The FUE method of hair restoration works to minimize patient discomfort. It is far gentler than other alternatives and does not require any scalpel incisions or staples or leave behind a linear scar.
How long will it take to see my NeoGraft™ results?
Expect the transplanted hair to begin shedding after two to three weeks. This is a normal part of the hair regrowth cycle. It will take about three to four months for the transplanted follicles to begin growing new hair. At this point, your transplanted hair will grow at a normal length and blend with the rest of your hair for a natural appearance.
Will the transplanted hair fall out?
NeoGraft™ is designed to provide you with long-lasting results; however, it cannot completely stop hair loss. Those with male or female pattern baldness may continue to lose hair but can maintain a youthful look with the NeoGraft™ procedure. Dr. Austin and Dr. Isakson will describe your options in full detail during your initial consultation.
