What is the goal of a Volbella® treatment?
Volbella® is a unique injectable gel formula that restores lost volume in the lips, defines and enhances the cupid’s bow at the center of the upper lips, reduces vertical smoker’s lines along the lip line, and diminishes lines and wrinkles in the chin and lower face.
What makes Volbella® different from other lip enhancers?
Volbella® is formulated with Allergan's proprietary Vycross™ technology, designed to reduce swelling and bruising as well as discomfort during the procedure. Vycross™ technology produces an exceptionally smooth and soothing gel formula that results in a more subtle and natural look and feel. Volbella® contains hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance that helps skin cells absorb and retain moisture and hydration. Volbella® lip injections produce an exceptional definition of the lip contour, adding volume and fullness to the lips while erasing lines and wrinkles around the lip line and in the chin area and lower face. Volbella® also produces longer-lasting results than most other lip enhancement treatments.
Are Volbella® injections painful?
Volbella® is formulated with lidocaine, a topical anesthetic that diminishes any potential discomfort during the procedure, making the procedure practically painless. Results will be visible immediately after treatment, with continued increased improvements for several weeks as the HA in Volbella® triggers increased hydration and moisture retention in the lips and lower face area.
Can I combine Volbella® with other dermal injections?
Is there any downtime after Volbella® injections?
There is no downtime following a Volbella® treatment. The injections may cause minor swelling, but most patients are able to resume normal activities immediately after leaving our office. Applying an ice pack for 20 minutes may be useful to control any inflammation or soreness, but the swelling will naturally subside within a day or so. We recommend you refrain from touching or biting your lips for the first 24 hours following treatment.
How long do the results of a Volbella® treatment last?
Volbella® results typically last about one year or so in most patients.
