Before & After

What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?

Microneedling is a skin care treatment that encourages collagen production using a handheld device loaded with micro (very tiny) needles. These needles make microscopic punctures in the skin that help the body to increase collagen production. Collagen heals the skin, increasing volume and smoothing imperfections. Secret™ RF Microneedling can treat and reduce the appearance of a number of skin imperfections on the face and body such as scars, wrinkles, sun damage, uneven skin tone, stretch marks, and enlarged pores.

How Does Secret™ RF Microneedling Work?

Secret™ RF Microneedling uses a disposable sterilized tip with an automatic sensing function to administer fractional RF energy deep into the skin, remodeling the dermis (the deep layer of skin) by forming new collagen. The result is tighter and healthier skin. Secret™ RF Microneedling also selectively destroys melanocytes in the epidermis. Melanocytes produce melanin (pigment), which lead to the development of dark spots and hyperpigmentation on the skin.

Secret™ RF Microneedling is performed by our cosmetic laser practitioner, and typically takes approximately 15-30 minutes to complete depending on the size of the treatment area. Most of our patients see a significant improvement after the first treatment, with optimal results seen after three treatments.

What Happens After Secret™ RF Microneedling?

Immediately after a Secret™ RF Microneedling treatment, your skin will be red, warm, and slightly swollen. The warm feeling will subside within a few hours. Some redness and minor swelling can last up to 24 hours. The majority of patients return to work the next day. Your skin will be sensitive for the first 24 hours after treatment, and you should avoid direct sunlight, and touching or picking at the treatment areas. Facelift FAQs

What is the best age for a facelift?

There is not an ideal age for a facelift, as we all age differently. To determine if a facelift is right for you, it’s important to consider the condition of your skin and your appearance rather than your age. Patients who are experiencing significant sagging and/or deep wrinkles and folds in the skin may want to consider a facelift, especially if they are unable to achieve their goals with other treatment options.

How long does a facelift last?

Generally, you can expect the results of a facelift to last about 10 years. However, the exact duration of your facelift results will depend on your personal circumstances, including your lifestyle habits and how you age.

How painful is a facelift?

The facelift procedure is not at all painful, as it is performed with the aid of general or local anesthesia to ensure your comfort and safety. The pain that is associated with the facelift procedure occurs during the recovery period, and is usually mild and well-tolerated. During this time, we will provide pain medication and outline a recovery protocol to help you manage pain and other symptoms while you heal.

How long does it take to look normal after a facelift?

After your facelift, you can expect it to take about a month for your initial bruising, swelling and related side effects to resolve, but most patients fell comfortable going out in public after 7-10 days. For this reason, patients are often comfortable resuming social activities a month after their procedure, although there will be some minor side effects that can persist for several weeks afterwards.

How can I speed up my facelift recovery?

The best way to speed up your facelift recovery is to follow all of the instructions and recommendations provided by your surgeon. This includes taking your medications as prescribed, drinking plenty of water, eating nutritious foods, resting as much as possible and resuming light activities (such as walking) once you feel up to it.
