Once an expression of your unique spirit—a tattoo often times turns into something you later regret. Representing 14 percent of the adult population, 45 million American’s admit to having at least one tattoo. At 40 percent, the number is much higher amongst those between the ages 26 and 40. According to statistics released by Cutera—the makers of our new laser tattoo removal system, Enlighten—16 percent of those with a tattoo later regret their decision.

The Top 3 Reasons People Choose Tattoo Removal

1.    Ill-fated from the beginning, individuals often regret including a name in their tattoo

2.    Employment stigma (16 percent feel that their tattoo has an impact on their chance for employment)

3.    Quite simply, a change of heart

Cutera Enlighten: Good News for You!

Along with Dr. Austin, we, at Southeastern Aesthetic Surgery, are pleased to introduce Cutera Enlighten. In the past, tattoo removal proved to be a difficult, long, painful, and often expensive process. This all changes with Cutera Enlighten. As the most advanced tattoo removal system to date, Cutera Enlighten effectively lightens, fades, and lessens the appearance of unwanted tattoos.

How Does Cutera Enlighten Work?

Harnessing the power of laser light energy, Cutera Enlighten combines picosecond and nanosecond technology to become the first and only treatment that utilizes both dual wavelength and pulse duration. By creating heat, the laser energy works underneath the skin’s surface to break up the ink particles into small pieces that can are then either absorbed by the body or shed from the skin. The appearance of your tattoo will fade as the pigment is excised from the skin.

What Makes Cutera Enlighten Better?

Targets Superficial and Deep Lying Pigmentation: One of the greatest challenges facing tattoo removal is that ink pigmentation lies at various levels within the skin. Cutera Enlighten is unique in that it works at varying depths—allowing it to target layers of ink as well as a full spectrum of pigment colors. In addition, Cutera Enlighten has shown to be effective on all skin types.

Fewer Treatments: Compared to other tattoo removal lasers, Cutera Enlighten has been shown to effectively remove a tattoo in 40 percent fewer treatments. Fewer treatments minimize cost, recovery, and pain. Remember, the exact number of treatments varies from patient to patient depending on the size, color, and intensity of the tattoo.

Less Painful: Tattoo removal has long been known as a less-than-desirable experience. However, with Cutera Enlighten, on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being unbearable), patients averaged a low pain score—between 1.4 and 2.5.
