What are NovaThreads?
NovaThreads are a non-surgical, injectable treatment that can lift, tighten, and define the face. NovaThreads needles are preloaded with an absorbable suture made of Polydioxanone (PDO). These PDO sutures are absorbable by the body and are left under the skin. The threads cause inflammation that signals the body to boost collagen production in the area. The boost in collagen helps to lift and tighten the skin.

What to expect during a NovaThreads treatment
To begin, your face will be disinfected and a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the areas that will be treated. Our patients typically report experiencing minimal discomfort during the procedure. Depending on the areas that are being treated and the desired results, the appropriate type of thread will be chosen and placed under the skin one at a time through a long thin needle. The threads run parallel to the surface of the skin and are adjusted into the desired positions to lift and tighten target areas. The needle is then removed and the thread is left under the skin. The treatment can take 15 to 30 minutes depending on the areas being treated.
Downtime, recovery, and results of a NovaThreads treatment
The majority of our patients experience little to no downtime following a NovaThreads treatment, often returning to work the same day. It is common to notice results immediately. You can expect results to last between five and nine months. The threads left under the skin will dissolve during a four to six month period. As the threads dissolve the results will become more noticeable.
